Hey guys. I’ve been thinking about how to say this for a while now, but I really need to get something off my chest…
I’m gay.
The signs have been there for a while. My mom even told me a few months ago that she thought I was gay when I was like 5 because I liked colors? But the main sign for me is that when I’m writing, my male characters always seem to be WAY more fleshed out than my female characters. I’m not talking just surface-level shit but like, I can never imagine girls (real or fictional) in the same way as I can boys? And my male characters always seem to have way more detail in every way, from just basic personality to appearance/clothing and all that. There are other signs, like obviously the fact that I find boys a heck of a lot more attractive than girls, but yeah, long story short - I started to question myself/my sexuality around the time I moved in to college (so August/September-ish), and came out as gay to a few people online in mid-November, then came out to a few people IRL in the following months, and now here we are.
I’d like to make a special note that y’all are among the first people I’ve told. Nobody in my family knows, I’ve literally only told four people that I know IRL — my best friend from HS, my roommate for next year (who’s also in the LGBT+ community), and two of my best friends who I met online and then met up with on my way home for Thanksgiving break. I even went as far as to use a different name on my other Instagram account (where I’m out and where I met my new friends) and made it private to avoid suspicion. In any case, I don’t think there’s any reason to think that any of this will change anything about the way that I interact with all of you on a regular basis. I’m hoping that most of you will simply accept me for who I am and pretty much move on. If you want, you can leave a message of support in the comments or send me a PM or something. I’m totally okay with people asking me questions or whatever makes y’all comfortable. And if you're uncomfortable in any way because of this, I promise I'm not going to shove it in your face or anything. I just wanted to get it out there, like I said I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now but just haven’t found the words until now. Some of my writing/other projects may have LGBT+ characters or themes in the future, but my normal posting (whatever that consists of
