Post subject:  MLBPPWorld YouTube Channel

So, last night, some of the members here briefly discussed the idea of a community YouTube channel for members of the forum to post MLBPP-related videos onto. This topic is for discussing the merits of having one, and what kind of Power Pros content we put up and when if we do one. It's pretty much been decided that if we do this, I would be handling the management of the channel itself.

We would like everybody to discuss this, as we think this could be a good step for Power Pros on the internet if we can pull this off! Please don't get too off-track though, we don't want too many side convos.

To get us started, here's a topic for discussion: what should the prospective channel name be called? I think something related to the name of this forum (MLB Power Pros World) should be taken into consideration.

I could post a roster update video, and videos of the Members' log games.

I think the channel should be called: "MLB Power Pros World" as well

I like "MLB Power Pros World" as well.

I would post a season series and i have an idea of a tournament with all of the MLB teams somehow.

I think the name should just be "MLB Power Pros World", or possibly "MLBPP World", as what LGM said. Someone might offer a suggestion that I like better, though.

I think that what could be posted on it is, well, almost anything. I would rather have a lot of videos rather than a little. Someone doing a success playthrough, roster update, an mlb life character, a season mode, whatever. As long as the video is of high quality, sure. (Like what you post, dishnet34, or how my 2007 video was.)

Maybe the name should be "The Survivors, A horrific story of how a group of boys survived the ending of their favorite series." But seriously, I do like it. I might not be able to contribute directly but I'll attempt to help in other way, IE roster edits, success mode players, critic.

Another thing I'm worried about is how much we would be posting and how often. We don't want to over-saturate sub boxes, but we don't want nothing in there either, so how could we balance that out?

I also have an idea for how the videos could go through a quality-control type thing before they're made public, but I can throw that idea out there later.

we can possibly make a schedule. So far there are about 5 of us if i remember from last night so we could post 5 videos a week and have 2 days with no videos, but we could also have those 2 days that are open for any extra videos people want to post.

LGM, can you please have your video done soon? I'll try to make a PP video of roster updates also.

Yeah, I was thinking heavily about having a schedule. I know a lot of the YouTubers I watch, especially Let's Players, have specific schedules that they stick to (StephenPlays/StephenVlog is an excellent example of this). I think it would be beneficial, and especially for the younger members who can partake in this, it could be a lesson in meeting deadlines, which could be helpful for them in future careers.

Speaking of the 5 people thing, I hope we could get more people to contribute to this idea if it gets off the ground. If not, I kind of like the idea of having 2 days with extra videos from the rest of the community. However, a downside to that is that it'll give only certain people more exposure than other members of the community, so this should be under a bit more discussion.

What does this have to do with what we're talking about now?

So...... we made little progress yesterday. I really want to get this started soon, so I don't lose interest in the ideas I have right now.

Here are some ideas that anyone can use:

- Season Mode
- Random Success Play through
- Updated Roster Posts (LGM is doing this)
- "The Career" - This consists of using Success Mode in MLBPP 07 and 08 and then playing MLB Life
- Exhibition Games
- Tournaments/Playoffs
- League Mode (With real or custom teams)
- Homerun Derby Challenges

If you want to post on the account then you should say it in this thread if you are not on this list (for posting purposes):

Dish
LGM
Philliesfan
TheRosterMaster
Tdud
Zero

Tips/ways on making success players? Or is that just a walk-through?

We can also make videos that explain why MLBPP is such a great game, and try to recruit new players/members on the forum.
