Just to update. I have worked out the hex editing for birthdates and years experience, names for players, team IDs and changing players from regular, to edited, to success mode and to MLB life mode for ps2, I can hex edit the rom file, but the checksum is still causing issues in game save files. For ps2 I can have a roster out before the season starts, for Wii I’m not sure. I have begun looking at the Wii version which is very similar but different. So at the very least both ps2 and Wii versions can be ROM edited to play on emulators or for OPL for ps2

Huge update. I cannot express how much we all appreciate your hard work on this! You're doing a great job.

how do i infinitely upvote this?

Not a God at all, just a simple man. I haven't worked out all the hex stuff as yet.

Ok. All Power Pros Portal Members. I have deciphered the birth-dates and years of experience of both PS2 and Wii Versions and the letters to hex conversion. There are still other little characters to interpret, but the most important stuff is done. The only problem is they are in excel style tables. Does anyone know if I can upload tables and this one is about 13 rows x 32 columns. I would just prefer to upload the tables with an explanation, because it is sort of not complicated, but it takes a while to get your head around. There are several tables I have as there are tables that break down the hex code into the players names, and the birthdates and the yrs played. Or if anyone has Wiki rights, would these be more appropriate for there? I'm not sure. I'll try and decrease the size of the tables or if someone wants to upload them for me, I'll send the files to them.

If the tables are comma delimited, you can post them effectively using the [code] tags. Otherwise, maybe throwing them into Google Sheets and sharing a shareable link to them would work, as well.

A decade later I can’t believe someone finally cracked this. Nice work!

@Rob

Do you think it would be possible to give players metal bats like the ones in 07 success mode with hex editing?

I’m not sure. It could be possible but I haven’t looked into it as yet. Currently I’m looking at the different sets of batting stances and delivery of pitches as when you edit players in game, you are limited in the stances etc that you can pick from.

these rosters are still being updated - when I have the time. Each team will likely have a few FA's on them just so the rosters aren't empty or thinned out. So it'll be a hybrid roster update

alright so since the season started, I am going to leave the rosters as is. I might eventually update my MLB PP 08 file to have all of these guys in and then we'll see what we can do about file sharing and such

k so i edited my 3rd post (has FA's on it) on the first page of the thread so it has the 2018 MLB draft order which allows you to lineup the 2008 draft in game

Is there still a demand for rosters? I spent most of the offseason working on a system to automate player rating for The Show, and just learned today that you guys cracked hex editing here.

I'll need to catch up a bit, when I get back from work, but hopefully I can help making roster rating way less manual.
