So I'm sure that all of us know that Recovery 4 affects a pitcher's recovery rate between outings in SEASON MODE. But that ability never seemed to work with me before.
I've noticed that a starter, with Recovery 3, can make his next start on 4 days rest if he pitches EXACTLY less than 6 2/3 innings in his prior start; or if he's not dying from fatigue on the mound before hand. So if said starter (with Recovery 3) pitches a full 7 innings, not one pitch more, he will miss his next start; on 4 days rest. Even with Recovery 4, if he pitches 7 innings and has 4 days rest, he will still miss his next start. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or the ability is garbage. I've never actually noticed a difference with Recovery 4.
My question is, does recovery 4 actually have a noticeable difference on a pitcher's recovery rate, or like I said, am I doing something wrong?.

Should probably mention that the scenario is a 5 man rotation

I've noticed that not only does Recovery 4 affect players' (pitchers AND FIELDERS) fatigue levels/recovery rates/energy between games, but also between innings. Haven't gone deep enough into a season mode in a while to notice anything like what you're experiencing, but I do remember finding out once that the ability could also help your star position players stay on the field.

Never noticed it working between innings before, that's interesting

Was that in season mode and how long was your pitcher's rest? I literally tried it again with the Clayton Kershaw I made today. He threw a shutout in 9 innings. He has Recovery 4 and I gave him 4 days rest, and by the time his next start came around, he was too tired to pitch. And each day there was a game occurring so there wasn't a complete day off.

Yeah, in my life mode, you can pitch until your arm falls off and still be able to make another start on 4 days rest. I was talking about recovery 4 in Season Mode :)

Recovery 4 definitely helps pitchers recover faster after starts, maybe it's not enough to make their next start, but it's certainly better than throwing him in Rest practice for all eternity.

makes sense, I usually don't put pitchers in the Rest Practice, so I should try that :)

take out their starters or relievers? I've seen the CPU replace a reliever with a lefty reliever when there was lefty hitter at bat.

hmmmm, that confuses me. I've never seen that happen before. I have no clue as to why that would happen haha
