I have 2007 and am thinking about buying 2008. I basically just play season mode, and love it in '07, but heard some things are different in 2008 so I'm kind of curious what aspects are different.

I heard there are bullpens...but I think I read that's not in season mode.

I also read you can use Miis...but I don't think that's in season mode.

Anyways, what is different from 2007 in season mode? Any answers would be much appreciated!

For starters, I don't think you have to buy anything from the shop to use an Arrange team in season mode, unless I'm mistaken.

Other than that, nothing really has changed from 07 to 08.

Cool, I think I had read that too, that arrange is available right away.

I think I heard something about 40 man rosters in September too - is that a reality or just something people were hopeful for?

Yes, there are 40-mans. And you don't have to buy arrange teams. That's all I can give you, i don't use Season mode much.

Cool thanks! The 40 man might be worth it on its own...the small rosters in 2007 kill me! I barely have enough guys for any AAA stuff.

If you play the games the guys with the bat-in-the-box area is now see through so it doesn't impede your vision as much...still annoying tho.

Controlling fielding is still wacky. I don't remember if the partial-auto runner control was an option in 07, that helps.

2008 instituted bullpens but for exhibition games only - season mode doesn't use them.

I never sim, but that's good to know!

Oh man, that's kinda awesome for the bat. I know every time Miguel Tejada came up to bat with his bat half in the zone it was annoying as heck.

Fielding is definitely not the best. I've recently had a few times where my 2B or SS was about to catch an outfield popup and as I went to jump the game switched me to the outfielder. So annoying. I think the runner thing is new - but I like being able to control them all, even if it is occasionally frustrating when it goes wrong.

The bullpens thing stinks that it's just exhibition! It sounds like an awesome addition...why would they make it just for some instances. So weird.

08 has my life mode where you can control someone up to 20 seasons.
