This is going to be the real test of whether June was a fluke or a way to maybe get closer into the playoff race. I'm looking to take the series. The bullpen has really been imrpoving, while some of the starters are fading away to the trading block.

Players to watch for:

Edwin Encarnacion


Since acquring him he's yet to have that one great series, I look for him to open up in this series.

Nomo went down with elbow pains.

bot 8th runner on 2nd 2 out.

top 9th Broxton goes down with elbow pain, not good, probably 2 more pitchers to DL.

Don't trade Gorzellany for Wakefield! Wakefield is good, but he'll only last a few years. Gorzellany however is young. Keep Gorzellany!

Michaels just went down with a 33 day broken Collarbone.
Nomo was thankfully ok.
Broxton's Elbow pain will take 14 days to heal...

Broxton stint with DL is over he's back, Michaels still has a good 15 days left on him... We are in 3rd place currently 4.5 out of first.

Little info on the past months records:

April: 9-19 off to a very slow and disappointing start, it was things like this that sparked me to trade Sanchez.

May: 12-16 Not much of an improvement, although as the months pass the records get better, at this point we well stuffed in to the basement, I had already been looking to next year. This is the month we got Volquez

June: 18-10 Things finally turned around! This is what helped us get into the division and play-off run. I hadn't done much in this month beacause of the teams major sucess due to the no-nos and Volquez they really helped.

July: As of now we are a dominating 6-2 I look forward to playing the Brewers again since they are in 2nd but are luckily 0-6 against me.


PIRATES MAKE MINOR MOVE IN TRADE

Pirates have just acquired Anibal Sanchez and Doug Waechter for struggling and old players Tyler Yates, John Van Benchoten, and Chris Gomez.

What are your thoughts?

Anibal Sanchez is one of the best young pitchers out there - almost as good as Phil Hughes. A few years will get him up to Ace level. A few more will get him up to Felix Hernandez level.

He pitched two perfecto's in a row in the postseason in my Marlins 'Chise. Talk about dominance.

Weird how no matter how I try, I can't get a no-no with really good pitchers like Felix. But I get two perfectos with Sanchez.

PIRATES TRADE AWAY STRUGGLING CHRIS DUFFY
As well as Phil Dumadrait and Great Bennet but in return get young players Ryan Sweeney and Donnie Murphy from A's. Duffy really wasn't have a good season, nor is Nate McLouth, I'm pretty sure you guys will know the ending to this story.

Geez, just how many walk-offs are you going to have this year?

How should I know? I'm just good at it lol. Actually we are only 4-7 in extra inning games lol.
