I just suffered my first loss of the season in May.... I had a perfect record at 30-0 until now. I was leading 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth in St. Louis. Pujols got on with a single, and two batters later, I had Kerry Wood throw a slider in the wrong part of the strike zone and Troy Glaus jacked a walk-off come from behind two-run homer. Somehow the Cardinals kept me to just two runs. I usually score more than that.

what difficulty level and sweetspot cursor settings do you use? doesn't sound very fun to have non-competitive opponents lose every game in season unless you really are crushing teams with powerful difficulty level and lock on zero but to each his own

Well, I've been experimenting with the settings. At first was winning games scoring very high, but I was also giving up a lot of runs so even though I got a lot of runs, they were close games, and my current setting is having CPU batting normal and lock-on 1.

cool. i'm just now finishing out my season on power pros 2007 with my settings set to all expert cpu difficulty levels and sweetspot cursor on normal after originally starting the first month on expert cpu and lock on 2. after gaining more experience with power pros, my preference for sweetspot cursor is lock on zero/normal. i'm currently experimenting with different modes and trying to decide if i want to start my 2008 season on all-star or powerful cpu levels since teams have gradually gotten easier to beat and i always opt for close games with competitive teams

Personally I think that's great news. Going 30 and 0 is hard and impressive even with normal. The trick to pitching is really thinking it out before pitching unlike with batting where you go with your instict. Watch tv and really pay attention to how pitchers pitch and really try to outsmart the batter. With the new (and awsome) ability to look back at previous at-bats, you can see what no to repeat so the hitter doesn't catch on. Also never use the same style twice in a row, but you can probably remember the at-bat before. I personally having everything on powerful when I play.

Yes, I always have to think hard before I throw a pitch. I mainly just try to remember what I threw to the previous batter. Sometimes, I throw a pitch and instantly know I made a mistake and the batter gets a hit. I usually throw a curve ball down in the zone or a fastball up in the zone for my third strike pitch, and it's really irritating when the batter catches on to that and continuously fouls them off.
