I was messing around on one of my season modes, and I found something kind of fun...
If you are in the NL, and you need a good hitting pitcher, you can "convert" one of your regular backup players in Spring Training. Then you will have a "dual" pitcher/hitter.
Kind of fun......

If only they'd be any good at pitching though. In real life I'm sure a lot of position players would be decent 3, 4, or 5 starters because a ton of them pitched during high school an/or college, but they don't have their real pitching abilities in the game because they've never pitched in the majors. I could convert one position player into a pitcher though(but he still sucks at hitting) Tony Pena Jr, shortstop on the royals, I watched his inning of pitching this year and edited his pitching stats into the game.

Well first you have to "covert" them, then you build their stats over the next 2 years or so....
(Bonus, you don't need a Pinch Hitter)

Is he the guy that pitched in the 9th agaisnt the phills when they were up by like 20 runs? He was the only guy to get a 1-2-3 inning all game :!:

The only problem about that is the top speed will be pretty low still. I see what you mean, but stamina, control, and top speed will be completely low. I am thinking about trying this out though, I'll buy the best equipment for stamina, control, and top speed and keep him in the minors all year and then convert him to pitcher in spring training and then give him a pitch and then keep training him. I wonder how good he could be after year 10.

Yeah, that was him. It was pretty awesome to see him go out there and do that.

Well if you max a hitter or miss it by a small stat, wouldn't it make sense to give him second position pitcher? That way in the game, you could train something (pitching)! Anyone else notice how for about an inning (on powerful), the hitters aren't sure how to play against this guy and hit grounds out every time? THe problem is with power hitters occasionaly, but even then its not much of a problem. After pitching an inning, the moment someone gets a hit off you, you need to take him out because the AI figured him out.
