Rowand hits 100th HR in blowout
Aaron Rowand hit his 100th career HR yesterday, a liner into right-center field.

It came in a 16-6 win over the White Sox, and Aramis Ramirez, with HRs in his first 2 AB's, is now 8 HRs away from 250 fourbaggers in HIS career. He now has 20 homers this season, leading the league in that category.

Not all news was good, though, as Ryan Braun hit 3 HRs and 2 doubles off the Phoenix, though he came into the game with a batting average of .238.

Also, Nick Blackburn will be placed on the 15 day DL with elbow pains.
He will miss 17 games, and Ian Kennedy is expected to take his spot in the rotation, with Mark Mulder coming up from AAA after recovering from his injury.

I'll probably be simming a lot more, though.

Aaron Rowand's the bomb!
And how come everyone gets injuries, I haven't had a 15-day DL for months and I havent gotten it in like the last 5 seasons I've played

Aramis, Ethier named POTW
Ramirez: .481, 6 HR, 14 RBI
Ethier: .536, 0, 5

This will be the format for the reports, so don't be confused if i don't show what stats they are.

Edit: They went too far into the game, it happens at some point.
I think you need to pitch 6 innings, come out with lead, stay with lead to get a win, that's what Blackburn wanted, he tired after the 4th.
And Rowand has had the sagging purple face since almost the start of the season!

COMBINED 5-HITTER SEALS WIN, ARAMIS HITS 4 HR
Mark Mulder and Brian Wolfe combined to allow only 5 hits, one of which a homer to Melvin Mora in the 2nd, to seal the win.
Aramis Ramirez is closing in fast on 250 career home runs. He hit an incredible 4 four-baggers yesterday, in his 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th plate appearances. He hit a double in the 2nd at-bat. He now has 248 HRs in his career, and has the inside track to earning his first MVP award, and possibly a Gold Glove (he has made some astounding leaping catches!)
I know it is still early yet, but if Ramirez keeps at this pace that he has set his whole career, he could be a first-ballot HoFer.

GUERRERO IS A PHOENIX!
Vladimir Guerrero has been acquired by the Phoenix Phoenix in a shrewd deal.
Also acquired are versatile Marlon Anderson and Heath Bell.
The Diamondbacks, who also owned Grady Sizemore, Adam Dunn, and Wily Mo Pena, received Aaron Rowand, Mark Mulder, and J.J. Putz, who has been pushed out of a starting job by rookie David Wrong.
$456,780 was shipped over as well.

GUERRERO HITS HR IN 1ST AB, ARAMIS REACHES 250
For Guerrero, a hooking liner, about 400 feet.
He would also get a double, going 2-4 on the day.

Aramis Ramirez, with a 3 HR night, passes 250 career homers, with 251.
In the bottom of the 7th inning, with no men on and one out, he blasts it 412 feet into dead-center field.
Heath Bell also made his Phoenix debut, allowing 1 hit in 1.1 innings.

ARAMIS, ARAI LISTED IN PLAYERS OF THE MONTH
Ramirez, with .484, 30, 66, is Fielder of the Month.
Arai, with .426, 17, 42 is Rookie of the Month.

Other players:
Mark Buerhle (Rays) is Pitcher OTM (4-0, 2.20 ERA, 27 K's)
Heilman is Reliever OTM (9 Sv, 0.90 ERA, 9 K's)
Freaky is all I can say for Heilman's stats.

Heck, he could be benched until September and probably win MVP.

GUERRERO GETS 2000TH HIT
'Twas a double to right center field, scoring 1 run in a win yesterday.
afterwards, Guerrero was seen soaked with Gatorade poured on him by the clubhouse prankster, Matt Bellamy.
Guerrero's comment:
"I'm just happy to be able to share this moment with such a great team, and it took a lot of work and dedication to get here. Also, GO HAWAII EAGLES!"
Okay, I made that last part up, but still...
Takahiro Arai had 2 HRs, and Ian Kennedy and Jose Capellan combined for only 1 run, 7 hits allowed

Gonzalez out of Phoenix?
Rumors of a possible trade have surfaced between the Phoenix and Cardinals.
The apparent trade is Gonzalez for starter Jon Garland, though a counter offer may be put in place by Phoenix.
