Falcons look for offense in May
As the month ended, the Falcons could'nt help feeling good about there first place AL west lead and their 16-12 April record but there are still concerns. The team had the least amount of runs in the AL in April, Feliz and Frandsen are batting below .200, and willits was expected to bat around .280 but only is batting about .250 with 2 homers and 4 ribbies. Jacobs was injured a few times in April and he will now be the full-time DH. Hannahan and his great defense will figure to get more starts at 2nd and 3rd(he was edited for better defense and to play third) with the sturggles of Feliz and Frandsen. But their pitching is dominant. Despite struggles to Moylan and Tankersly, their pitching is great. They were second in the majors in ERA only behind the Cub's 3.60 ERA which is close to the Falcons 3.62. Wakefield is suprisingly the pitcher with the lowest ERA with a 2.95 ERA. Nathan has came back to a tune of a 1.93 ERA. Volquez has the highest ERA among our starters with a 4.50 earned run average.

May 3rd- Hannahan hero, Mr. Shutout delivers
With the Royals visiting, the Falcons had another close pitchers duel as Oswalt and Millwood both pitched complete games, Oswalt threw all 9 shutout innings. But in the 9th with Millwood pitching with 2 outs, up came Jack Hannahan. He had come in the third inning as an injury replacement to Frandsen. Hannahan has struggled at the plate as he was only 4-40 which is a .100 average. Being the last person expected to hit a homerun, Hannahan smokes a fastball into the right-field seats for the walk-off thriller

That is like Aaron Boone in 2003 ALCS.

It was kinda like that, except Boone did have 23 homers in the regular season that year, hannahan had like 4 hits

Aaron Boone still haunts me in my dreams

Falcons call up Lowe, send down Moylan
The Falcons have made a move to send down righty side-arm pitcher Peter Moylan. Moylan let up 11 runs in 8 IP this year. His replacement will be Mark Lowe who is a power pitcher with a good fastball

Miguel Cabrera's salary is 19000, and David Wright's salary is 8700. It would be better to get a cheaper third baseman like Chone Figgins or B.J. Upton (who has third base as a second position).
