I don't think its different when your dominant or not
But if you are concerned of that then you should play like game 1 of the world series and simulate the next 1 or 2 or something

I finished the season 28 games ahead of the 2nd place taem in the west (mabye bad division) But when I simmed, I won by like 7-0, 10-0, rarely a close game. I did sim the 1st 2 though.
