Chamberlain pulled for Prior; Uggla hits Sac Fly @ Warning Track

Joba Chamberlain was pulled from the game after he gave up a tying homerun. Mark Prior came into replace him, and the Pirates are up 8-7 after Uggla hit a sacrafice fly that went to the warning track, scoring McLouth!

Pirates win! Pirates win! 9-8, final score!

This was a game. A great game at that. It was an offensive battle tyat started in the first and ended in the tenth. I don't know how to describe it words other than: epic.

Zach Duke, is that really you? It certaintly wasn't the Zach Duke we expect to see on the mound. He only three innings before citing "elbow pain", like we believe that! He probably wanted to get himself out of a jam, and he did. He let six runs cross the plate all while giving up thirteen hits. We're dissapointed in you, Zach! Where is the no-no throwing Duke?!?!

Joba Chamberlain was wonderful in game one. However, in game two, he was mediocre at best. He allowed one run to score, which is terrific compared to Duke. However, he gave up four hits, and failed to strikeout anyone. He got the bases loaded two times in about two innings of play. That means every inning he pitched, the bases got loaded.

Mark Prior. Paging Mark Prior. You were wonderful. You allowed only one run to cross the plate, giving up four hits, but striking out two. He went 4.2 innings and walked away with the victory in extra innings.

The pitching for the Pirates' wasn't what we like to see. It wasn't awful, well someone's was, but the pen was effective. That was the whole purpose of the offseason when they signed guys like Prior and Gagne. "I'm really, really glad to see Prior go out and pitch so well." Francona said, "Without him, we would have lost the game, probably."

However, despite how close they came to losing the game, they didn't because of a guy named Ryan Zimmerman. Zimmerman wasn't top-notch offensively last year, but he's opening a door - that of clutch hitting. He was able to hit a go-ahead homerun in the tenth inning, and because of that, they went on to win.

Congratulations on the clutch hit. You're the Coca Cola Player of the Game!

In other news, Zach Duke's "injury" does not appear to be serious, and he'll be alright for his next scheduled start. This is good news if he's able to turn it around and do better next game, which he probably will be able to. We also recieved word from Don Zimmer, General Manager of the Pirates, who stated, "I'm impressed that we won two games in arow. We made the Reds, two games behind us, like we were behind them last year. If this is any sign of things to come, you're looking at World Series champions."

As one should know, you should never get too arrogant. Especially when you're facing a terrible, terrible foe. Though, we were able to catch up with Mr. Francona after the game.

Terry Francona: Hello.

Press Reporter (Post Gazette): Are you surprised with your team's performance?

Terry Francona: No. This is what I expect from them.

Press Reporter (Post Gazette): Oh, alright. Thanks!

_______

The interview was short. Well, yeah, it was. We had nothing else to say to him, and he seemed like he was in a hurry, probably to go celebrate with his club, or check on King Felix.

just watch as your next pitcher gets elbow pain too...

Anyway, your team looks awesome! Clear-cut division champ. Then you'll need to pull it out in the postseason...

If Jered Weaver gets Elbow Pain, I'll LOL.

Want to know what's funny though? The reds are starting Eric Byrnes in place of Adam Dunn. O.o;

Pittsburg Pirates @ Cincinatti Reds - Game Three of Four

We've slugging, pitching, and defensive duals every day so far. Now, it comes down between two strong finishers. Matt Belisle and Jered Weaver. Both pitchers were incredible last year, but only one can win this year!

Jered Weaver is on the mound for the Bucs! Matt Belisle is on the mound for the Reds!

(Whatcha doing Mr. Catcher, grabbin a Weaver Bar?)

You should know of the offensive lineups for both teams, so there is no reason to show you any of that.

Now, we take the field, and predict that the Reds will win.

Wright hits three run shot, Pirates up 4-0

David Wright hit his second homerun of the game, putting the Pirates up by four. His first homerun came in the first with nobody on, and his second came in the third, with McLouth and Crawford on base!

Uggla hits solo homerun, Pirates up by five!

Looks like the prediction was wrong, but it is still early. Uggla hit his first homerun of the game, ninth of the year, to put the Pirates up by five.
