Opening Day has crept closer and closer, and finally it is upon us.
The Detroit Tiger are facing off against the Houston Astros, and it's a beautiful day at Comerica Park.
Brandon Webb will be matched up against C.C. Sabathia in what will be a bonafide pitcher's duel on Opening Day.

In other news...

It has been announced that Jack Cust will start at DH in place of Yomama, the rookie.

Final score: 9-0, and Webb pitches a complete game 4 hitter.
Afterwards, he commented "I just can't believe it. I'm kind of a slow starter, and I thought I'd get rocked for a run or two; however, it was CC, not me, who got hit hard.

Yoma Ma came on in the 8th inning for Votto, and hit a pinch-hit HR in his first major league at bat, just barely curving around the left field foul pole to seal the win.

Jhonny Peralta (yes, that's spelled correctly) had a leaping, almost flying catch of a liner to save one hit, and Gold Glover David Wright had snagged a bullet right down the third base line, laying his body parallel to the ground to make the catch.

Sabathia was taken out after 5 innings and 5 earned runs, and Joel Zumaya finished most of the game.

Steven Jackson has announced trade discussions with multiple teams for a new SS.
Players named were Freddy Sanchez, Jason Bartlett, and possibly Jose Reyes.
Jackson commented, "Peralta is a great shortstop, and he's gotten off to a great start. However, it probably won't last, and we need someone speedier, and with better defense. Peralta fits the bill, but not as well as some other guys, and that's why these 'rumors' have come up. They're not rumors."

And what does "IMO" mean, it's not a smiley either
And for the record, my Marlins franchise is sorta on hold til tommorow made, just got 2k9. It looks pretty good compared to last year.

In my opinion.

Is 2K9 any good franchise-wise? I might buy it after I get my paycheck.

I'll give you a hint: he doesn't necessarily have to be named in the group above (sanchez, reyes, bartlett)

Hanley!

And to Me_and_Lucy, Ive been too busy updating rosters/lineups. They didn't put all of the players from the F/A market. But the Yankees already have CC, AJ and Tex.
Ill tell you about the franchise mode when I play it

If I were you, I'd aim for Cano and have him play short. He brings a good bat to the game and is decent defensively.
