American League Creamed by NL; Mauer Named MVP

The American League was destroyed by the National League in the All Star game today. With the final score of 12-2, Joe Mauer of Boston, came home as the MVP. Despite being on the losing end, he went seven for seven with two RBIs.

Braves and Red Sox Make Deadline Deal

In a hastily-called press conference, Boston announced today a trade with Atlanta that will send 30-year-old second baseman Nick Green and 26-year-old minor league reliever Josh Papelbon to the Braves in exchange for 29-year-old closer Rafael Soriano and 19-year-old minor league right fielder Jason Heyward. All players are expected to be in their respective new cities in time for today's games.

This year Green is hitting .258 with 40 hits, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and has scored 21 runs.

He's number seven. He'll be the perfect replacement for Drew/Van Every when the time comes. He's projected to have a nice, powerful swing.

I just checked in on Heyward. He's ready for the MAJORS NOW.

In September, he hit four home runs and batted .366!!

Should I leave him in the minors for next year or something? He's going to be in the playoffs though, no question!

I'm not that good with advice because I don't know much bout this game but I think that Bard should go to the bullpen, same with Masterson. But can u give me a link to how to get this cause I might try it

From Worst to First; Boston has Best Season in Majors, Going to ALCS

The Boston Red Sox, to many, were an easily defeated team in the beginning half of the season. It was a mistake to say that, and they proved it. Luckily for Red Sox fans, their smart General Manager, Theo Epstein, was able to keep the Red Sox in contention. And, nearing the trade deadline, he made a brilliant move for Adam Dunn who carried the team into the playoffs with a record of 110-52. He was brilliant for the Red Sox.

In seventy-three games, he slugged NINETEEN home runs, driving in fifty-nine runs and batting .324. Because of his effort for the Sox, Dunn is now celebrating his first .300 season in his career. He hit 44 home runs for the Red Sox and Nationals combined.

However, Dunn didn't do it alone - he had help - from Joe Mauer. Mauer is this season's batting champion with a .361 average. He also hit twenty-two home runs and drove in a career high 105 runs. He's the Red Sox MVP for the season, and he may be the American League's MVP.

Mauer also had help though. His came from an unfamiliar face - but a first baseman - Joey Votto. Votto hit 28 home runs with .327 average for Boston. For all of 2009, he hit thirty-three home runs and slugged .327. He's a candidate for MVP.

This incredible year was anchored by some great pitching, too. John Smoltz, Dice-K, A.J Burnett, Jonathan Papelbon, Takashi Saito, Josh Beckett, and nineteen game winner Daniel Bard all contributed - equally. They made up the greatest bullpen and starting rotation this year, and it looks like they'll be able to do it again.

Smoltz who practically missed half of the season went 14-3 with 125 innings pitched and ninety-eight strikeouts. He has not been offered a contract extension this year. Boston Management is on the fence about it because of his age, but they're willing to take suggestions from the fans.

Also, Boston swept the Angels in the ALDS, they are facing the Yankees in the ALCS like old times.

A.J Burnett will duke it out against his former team as the Yankees put their staff ace on the mound, CC Sabathia. It's going to be a pitcher's duel, and Burnett can come out on top.

I optioned Masterson off to Triple-A since he wasn't doing too hot, for Bard. Bard is having an incredible rookie year. Like, Cy Young caliber.

EDIT: This is the demo for the previous version: http://www.megagames.com/news/redir.cgi ... R1cC5leGU=. The demo for the newest version isn't out yet because the main developer is taking a needed vacation. It'll be out in a month.

If you like the previous version, you'll like the newer one. They redesigned the pitching and scouting system to make it more fun. They also added arbitration which you control now (make offers, etc. . .) If your interested, you can buy the game from this link: https://www.elicense.com/ootpdevelopments/store/

Wow. Berkman won the NL Batting Title. Good for him.

The Cubs are fighting against the Phillies for the NL Pennant. My money is on the Cubs.
