How the Stranglers Stole Christmas

'Twas the week before Christmas and all throughout Scranton, not a ballplayer was stirring, not even Giancarlo Stanton.

Mick: We're back!!

Keith: What a vacation. Seems like just yesterday that our season wrapped up.

The Stranglers were back and ready to play, but Pepper needed to get something important out of the way.

Pepper: Seeing how it's the holiday season and the Stranglers have gained a lot of fame since our series with the Knights. We should do charity work. And since we're a team we should all spend Christmas together.

Azul: But I was going to my grandmother's house.

Pepper: Your grandmother is welcome to come here, but if everyone wants their bonuses I suggest you stay.

Oh how enticing it sound for the Stranglers for sure, but the offer wasn't good enough for this holiday detour.

Pablo: I for one think this is a great idea. We can all be like a family.

Paul: Most of us already has a family Pablo.

George: Not Brian. He's all alone.

Paul: I suppose you're right. He has been down since New York.

Pepper: So you guys are staying, then? Smart move.

Pepper got together the charity session quite snappy, but not all of the Stranglers players were all that happy.

WildThing: Why should I stay here? I've got my wife and my son back home in Middle Dakota.

Reg: Wait, what? Middle Dakota?

WildThing: Yeah, I'm constantly running from police, so it's nice to be able to cross the border easily.

Chris: Come on guys, we have to stay. Think of all the smiles we'll bring to people's faces. And I'm also planning on getting the whole team presents.

Kennedy seemed to have the players convinced, but he had a trick up his sleeve and he couldn't afford for the players to leave.

Pepper: We're having the benefit at the Scranton mall. Everyone be there.

4 Days Later...

Goldman: Pepper, who's playing Santa?

Pepper: Well, it was going to be Brian. We were just going to dye his beard white, but his beard got shaved.

Goldman: Well find someone! We haven't got much time!

Pepper: Alright, alright. What about Jack Merluzzi?

Jack Merluzzi: You summoned me?

Pepper: Not really, but okay. Go put a Santa suit on.

Jack Merluzzi was ready to spread Christmas fear, but he had to hurry for the time of the event was near. Merluzzi walked out of the dressing room door, and once Pepper layed eyes on him, his jaw dropped to the floor.

Pepper: A Jack Skellington costume?! Really?!

Jack: Well, we have the same first name...

Pepper: Just get out there! The people are here.

Little boy: I want a nerf gun for Christmas!

Jack's Mind: asdfddsfsasdI've heard a scenario like this in a movie before. Good thing I know just how to respond.gjhklkjhj

Jack: I'll shoot your eye out kid.

Little boy: *sobs*

Jack's Mind: zxcxvbvxvThat wasn't it! What was that quote?! I got it!mnbvvm'

Jack: You'll shoot your eye out, kid!

Little boy: *sobs louder*

Jack: Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!

The parents complained and called for Jack's head, the Stranglers' Christmas event was now under code red.

Chris: Well, that didn't go so well, I suppose I will give you all your presents now.

Kennedy had a smile from ear to ear, he was so happy to be spreading holiday cheer.

Paul: I guess we have to sign autographs now. Then we can unwrap our presents.

The charity event went on and with a few minor mishaps, the Stranglers were back home with green and black giftwrap.

Pablo: I will open mine first.

Pablo opened his present, the first of the day, but what he found caused him much dismay.

Pablo: A booster seat?! Is this some kind of sick joke, Kennedy?! I'm not that short!

The Stranglers opened their presents, but were not all that happy because the gifts they had gotten turned out quite crappy.

Paul: Wool socks?! You bastard! You know about my athlete's foot!

Brian: Shaving cream and a razor? My beard is gone! *sobs*

Azul: Pink hair dye? Really?!

Ringo: Hey, I got drumsticks! *opens box* These are from KFC! Not cool!

Ryan Howard: A dietary plan? That is none of your business, sir!

Mick: Dancing classes? What are you getting at here?

Reg: A book about the Revolutionary War. Stupid americans.

Pepper: Paprika? You seriously missed out on an opportunity for a joke.

George: ...Nothing? Really? What gives?

Mark: Steve Bartman's current adress? Hey, this could be useful.

Jorkins: I already located him when I was in computer kindergarten, sir.

The Stranglers were yelling and making a fuss while Kennedy was still waiting on the team bus.

Pepper: Hold it. Hold it! HOLD IT! I know you guys aren't complaining about all these gifts Kennedy made an effort to get you.

Azul: But coach, even you said his gift was bad.

Pepper: I admit his gift did give me pause, even the best of us can falter at times, but did you see the look on his face when he gave us these gifts?

Brian: He probably meant to give us bad presents. He was probably holding back laughter.

Pepper: Maybe so, but at a time like this we should expect the best out of people, not the worst.

Paul: And that smile did seem pretty genuine.

Ringo: But isn't it better to give than to receive? We could give these to people who need them.

John: Kennedy gave these presents to us and only us. Receiving is just as important as giving. You can't have one without the other. It would be rude not to accept these gifts after all the hard work he went through.

Mick: Yeah, Christmas is a time to be grateful and take a step back and realize how lucky we are to be playing the greatest game in the world with some great guys and look ahead to see how we can improve ourselves.

Pablo: Yes, we should be happy that we are all here together at the best time of the year.

All of the Stranglers agreed and started to go, but that's when Kennedy came in and delivered a final blow.

Chris: *claps* Great job guys. Truly great. You see, I was saddened by how none of you wanted to be here so I came up with a plan. It was a test and you all passed with flying colors. You all saw what I was trying to show you. And now, your reala presents.

Screw the rhyming! The Stranglers all got their presents and had a laugh.

The Stranglers: Thank you, Chris!

Brian: Hey! Mine still sucks!

The Stranglers stared at him.

Brian: I mean... I'm just happy to be here.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!

 Awesome update!

Brain wanted a fake beard, until his real one grows back...

Pablo now wants a stool, so he can reach Kennedy's face and slap him.

Offseason Transactions

Dennis O'Leary (Yeah, he's still alive): Today the Stranglers finally finished re-signing all of their players. My sources tell me that they were surprised at Paul McCartney accepting a long term deal, but Brian Jones was a real pain in the you-know-what to sign and they had to settle big time.

Here are some notable re-signings
Paul McCartney: 3yrs/3200 points
Yu Darvish: 1yr/4690 points
John Lennon: 1year/410 points (Agent Maccrash21 was fuming after this one).
Brian Jones: 1 year/8950 points (He was asking upwards of 9000 points and the Stranglers were offering in the 2-3000)

The Stranglers do not plan on making any big splashes in free agency this year, but with many new, young, talented players coming in to the league this year, other teams certainly will.

I'm Dennis O'Leary of the Scranton Sports Network, signing off.

Calling all agents!

It's Spring Training time and you get to decide what your player practices! So, uh, yeah. Type on your keyboard your decision and click submit.

Are you saying it's wrong to talk to a bag of Skittles? Because if so, I'm going to need to rethink a lot of things. :P

@mac: End of year stats or letter grade stats?

Eh, I should probably post both anyway.

Okay, I'll try to get them up as soon as my little sister gets off the Wii, but I might go out for dinner.
