3/29 Stranglers Season Opener

Recap
The Stranglers won today by a score of 5-2. Paul McCartney certainly pitched a gem going 8+ innings and alowing only 2 earned runs. The Braves struck first in the Third inning with a singles rally to score the run. But in the bottom half of that inning Keith Richards and George Harrison hit back to back doubles to tie it up. In the next inning John Lennon hit a two run shot to take the lead now 3-1. It stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth when Chris Kennedy hit a solo shot and two batters later Mick Jagger did the same. The first batter McCartney faced in the ninth was Texeira and he hit a homerun to make it 5-2. Brian Wilson then came in for the save.

EM: He wants to meet you.
Chris: Okay. How bad could it be?

Little did Chris know it could be really bad

Fan: Where is he? Where is he?
E.M.: Right over there. Jeez kid. Alright Kennedy he's all yours.
Kennedy:Sp you caught my first ball?
Fan: Yeah whatever just sign all this stuff.
Kennedy: Um. Okay. You made a whole list?
Fan: Yeah now hop to it!

Kennedy stayed there signing things for the kid. Now he knows how bad it could be.

The starting pitcher, Bono, did not do nearly as well as Paul McCartney today giving up six runs in 5 IP. Today the Stranglers struck first When Mick Jagger hit an upper deck solo shot in the second inning. However the Phillies came back by a couple singles then a double by Jimmy Rollins although he was thrown out at third. In the bottom of the inning Keith Richards hit a 488 ft. bomb sending three runs home to make it 4-3. In the sixth Pat Burrell hit a home run to make it 6-4 Phillies. In the eighth Kennedy hit a three run shot to make it 7-6 Phillies. In the bottom of the ninth Brian Wilson came in for the save but blew it giving up a homer to Geoff Jenkins. This is what he looked like in the dugout.Oh well. So to extra innings we go and in the eleventh inning Ringo Starr reached base again and Kennedy smacked his second home run of the game into the right field bleachers to win it 9-7.
