With the trade deadline here, the Rattlers signed Rookie fielders Fernando Silva and John Bard to be trade assets. They released John Nance.
The Rattlers offered a trade to Houston:
Houston gets
Bacsik
Phoenix Gets
Backe
Declined.
The Rattlers will send down Bard and Silva. They will keep them surprisingly. Pitcher Lucas Snare and 3rd baseman Kenny Cust were called up. Snare will replace Berg in the rotation.

Redd, Mochizuki, and Swann are doing quite well, especially for gray-bar guys.

Great season from Redd. Too bad you couldn't get into the playoffs...or escape the cellar.

Season Review:
The Phoenix Rattlers were predicted to go 40-122 this season. Instead, they went 72-90. Expecting a horrible year, Jacob Stylin led a team of all rookies to a successful season. Nicholas Redd won the Team MVP award batting .292 with 28 homers and 117 RBI. The team had no all stars, but had three snubs, Mochizuki, Frese, and Redd. Lucas Snare showed that he is capable of being a star player in the future, and Phil Swann had a great year. Struggling players included Denham, Reid, Hankins, and Dunwoody. In AAA draft picks Merricks and Guance struggled. Merricks batted .045 with 1 homer and 2 RBI. Guance batted .050 with 0 homers and 3 RBI. The Rattlers will get the 3rd overall pick in the 2009 MLB Draft. Stylin said he will not make a bigger draft mistake than drafting Merricks with the #1 pick.
