I got the greatest starting rotation ever in just the dream draft.

F. Hernandez
Lincecum
Webb
Cain
Kuroda
Kendrick (basically a slower throwing Kuroda w/o 2-seamer)

Yes, I use a 6 man rotatiuon. It gives everyone good rest so I dont have to start my relievers like I had to last year.
If anyone thinks they can convince me out of this strategy, you can try.

By the way my closer is K-Rod (Francisco Rodriguez).

hmm I'd get rid of Webb and put in CC, or Josh Beckett.

Sabathia actually isn't all that great in this game and the last one. Beckett wasn't that good in the last one, but he's way better in this one.

I would say to make a 4 or 5 man rotation and put the left over starter(s) at long-relief. This way you have good starting and relief.

This is my fantasy team rotation for season mode...

1-B. Webb (excellent, moderately priced SP)
2-J. Maine (good pitch selection and movement, cheap)
3-C.M. Wang (a poor man's Beckett)
4-T. Wakefield (moderately priced, I've gotten multiple 20+ K outings from him)
5-R. Hill (a good, cheap LHP)
6-J. Shields (moderately priced and 6-7 years until FA)
7-C. Durbin (decent spot starter/long reliever)

AAA
T. Gorzelanny (another good LHP, more or less equal to Hill)
W. Rodriguez (another cheap LHP--but not as good as the other two)
J. Verlander (good prospect with a lot of upside)
P. Hughes (same as above)

As you can tell, I have tons of starters. I believe in the "more is more" strategy because pitchers can get injured or worn out over a long season. Having a bunch of decent, cheap starters on the bench allows me a lot of flexibility I might not afford to have with more expensive, 1 year FA players. Also, every player on my list has at least 2 years before FA (except Wakefield), so I feel like I have a good chance of keeping a good core of guys over the coming seasons.

Of course, unlike in real life, putting starters in the bullpen has no ill or bonus effects.

These bullpen mates won't get a boost to their top speed and break because they work less.

On the other hand, they'll still suddenly be able to go 100+ pitches if you need him to...

What? That's an awful idea. First of all, you should really be using a 6 Man rotation in this game. Second of all, just because they're starters doesn't mean they're going to be great in the bullpen.

Here's what I suggest. Have your 5 best starters in the rotation and the worst as a swing man. That way the better players get the start, get better stats and a chance at awards, and whenever their too tired to pitch you can put in your old number 6 man.

Okay, i just got an even better lineup. My team is the Giants:

Rotation:
Lincecum
Cain
Wang
Garza (edited so all his pitches have 1 more in break, he deserves it)
Volquez (edited to have 4 break on each pitch)

Relievers:
Linebrink
Greinke
A. Brown
Bierd
G. Smith (Greg, not Great)
Franklin
Closer: Jenks

Here's the lineup:
Bill Hall 3B
McLouth (edited to D,B,B,D,D) CF
Hawpe RF
Braun LF
A. Gonzalez 1B (edited to A in power)
Phillips 2B
Y. Escobar SS
Doumit C

Bench:
Saltalamacchia
Iwamura
H. Kendrick DH
Denorfia
Garko

Lincecum had a 3 hit complete game, no walks.
Wang had a 4 hit, 2-run game, Jenks with the save.
That's as far as I've gotten.
Tell me what you think

I have a trade pending:
Doumit, B. Hall, and McLouth for Coste (Edited to have D, D, E, D, D), B.J. Upton, and Figgins. It saves me almost 2000 in salary and improves me in 3 positions.

CC Sabathia
Fausto Carmona For some reason Fausto isn't that good.

Westbrook (must...trade....him)
