Post subject:  Missing manual

Hello,

Just brought the game home to discover there's no manual (I bought a used game -- serves me right!).

Anybody know of a resource online that explain the controls to me? I get the gist of batting, pitching is confusing and I'm sure there are subtle nuances that are escaping me.

Looks like fun, though...

Thanks for your help!

There are in-game menus for most of the controls, and the wiki has some info on controls as well.

Thanks very much! I found some in-game control advice for batting, but still none for pitching. I'll check out the Wiki and see what's what.

I assume there is an actual manual with the game when you buy it new - - why wouldn't they include it in a used game? Frustrating...

The in-game controls are based on your situation.

If you're hitting, only the controls for batting and baserunning are displayed.
If you're pitching, only the controls for pitching and fielding are displayed.

Just a warning, I'm not saying anyone's at fault here yet. But for the sake of the site, please do not post links to warez or anything else illegal, which would include a PDF of the manual.

One, I don't need the porn links spamming anyone's machine, and two, that's not what we're here for.

Yes, a bare minimum controls guide is up for the wii, but it will need to be fleshed out better.

It's more of a legal bit...
Anything copyrighted cannot be distributed via a third party without prior written consent of the publisher. This includes copies or images of the DVD or the manual.

Technically, in-game images are also copyrighted, but we're going to slide on that one.

Thanks for the warnings, and the help.

I'm sort of struggling along, picking things up as I go. But there are still loads of things I don't understand, like how practice works, experience, etc. I think I'll have to go back to the store and return my used copy for a new one so I know what's going on.

Is it normal for used game stores to sell the game without the manual? Seems weird to me.

Game stores 'should' inspect the games before letting you buy them, but that never happens.

If I have time, I'll work on fixing up the controls page... but for the concept stuff, the forums and wiki should have the bulk of it. (like practicing).

Well, I finally broke down and went back to the store, returned the used version and paid the difference for a new copy, with manual. And all I have to say is I enjoy the game 100% more now that I know what the hell is going on!

So now back to the game -- thanks again for your help and advice, next time I post here I hope I'll have something more interesting to write about!

yeah, sorry about that. It's rare you actually get a game that almost requires the manual to solve completely...

I hate not having manuals. Usually I get a game late and before getting to play it I just read it a night before sleeping.
