I bought it just to see what it was like. I got the ps2 version. Does anyone think the American and jap passwords will be compatible? Probably not right?

No chance. They use difference character sets consisting of different numbers of symbols.

Yeah but, have you guys ever played a Jap game? For passwords and alot of other things they normally use the english alphabet. The only things in Japanese is the main screens, voices, and subs.

Yeah. Have you? For passwords Power Pros has always used the Japanese alphabet, which consists of fewer symbols than the gibberish (alphabet, mathematical signs, musical notes, etc) we use in the American version.

So...if our version uses more symbols than theirs...and the passwords were compatible...what do we substitute the missing symbols with??

Just curious...

For which system did you purchase this game for? Where did you get it?

Does that require any kind of mod chip to be able to play the Japenese version?

On the wii you need a modchip on a ps2 you don't. I got the game from play-asia.com

Seriously? I always thought a mod chip was needed to play it on the ps2 and didn't want to do that for one game. If it didn't cost so much I'd probably get one just for a change of league, but it's way to much money for one.

No there are ways to bypass the ps2's region lock with other things.

Not worth it IMO, even at the same price. JP versions have no player edit or unique faces.

wow. I wanted to buy Jikkyu Power Pro Kun Pocket 9 for DS, but it cost $50.00 on ebay.

Plus, I thought that getting imported stuff would be a scam and result in fraud.
