Hello I'm a new member to this website and I was wondering if anyone has ever thought of making a fan translation of Jikkyou Powerful Major League 2009. I really like the game but I think I would enjoy the success mode even more if I could understand what they are saying since the stories seem very interesting. What do you guys think about the game?

Whoosh

But yeah, I would love to see a fan translation, but it would be a ton of work.

And even more work for folks who can't speak Japanese.

The success modes in the Japanese games seem like they're leagues more interesting than the MLB ones, which are great in their own right, so it would be coo to be able to read them definitely

Yeah

I've never played the Japanese ones, but I've heard from a lot of people on here that they are better than the American ones, so they must be really good. Because I love the American ones.

I'm sorry I don't follow the Japanese video game market close enough for your liking

Yeah the game is better than the previous MLB Power Pros games that got an American Release. I like the Mon Mon Monkeys success mode because you get to control the whole team for all 9 innings in every game. I tried learning how to translate video games earlier this summer but I just temporarily gave up on it.

Whew...a fan translation of Power Pros 2009? That's gonna take a LOT more work than you guys probably think. I mean, we'd need a programmer for all of this stuff, and I don't think a lot of people that are regularly here are skilled in programming Wii games. Not to mention someone who can accurately translate the text to make it true to the original game, plus coding it so it works in American Wii/WiiU systems. I mean, there have been some successful fan translations in video game history (Mother series, anyone?), but this would take a lot more work just to get the ROM or whatever for the game off the disc.

I appreciate the enthusiasm, and I myself like the idea, but the work involved is probably too much of an undertaking for all of us here.

Yeah, you do have a good point it will take a lot of work and skill to do this. It's still fun to imagine doing something like that. I spent some of last month trying to use hexidecimal editing and table charts to make some changes to the older games, but it didn't go well.Maybe one day I'll figure this out, but for now I'll just stick to playing the game as is.

Didn't somebody no longer active here figure out hex editing? Maybe EricDavis or PROMAKER?
