Okay, with that AgentP gets Ricky Johnson and the draft is done. I'll try to get the first game update up tonight. Good luck everyone! :)

Ornery Orcas(0-0) @ St. Louis Rams(0-0)
Playground Commons

Opening day of the BFL season was a beautiful sunny Saturday, and the kids couldn't wait to get their first game started. The Ornery Orcas squared off against the St. Louis Rams at Playground Commons, in an early season Frontyard West match-up.

The game started well for the Orcas, who forced a punt on the first drive of the game, but returner Stephanie Morgan muffed it and the Rams recovered on the Orcas' 8 yard line. The defense would hold though, and Ricky Johnson intercepted a pass in the end zone on the second play after the fumble. The Orcas glided down the field, but were stopped in the red-zone, on the 9 yard line. Coach Fuzz decided to go for the safe points, and Ricky Johnson knocked home a 26 yard field goal to give the Orcas a 3-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.

Another defensive stop gave the Orcas the ball back, but Tony Delvecchio threw his first interception of the year, which eventually set up the Rams for a 41 yard field goal. The Red Tank(Dmitri Petrovich) said no to that idea, and sacked the holder before St. Louis could get the kick off, preventing the Rams from tying the game. Following the sack, the Orcas moved the ball into the red-zone, but Tony threw another pick with :10 seconds left in the half, in an attempt to put up more points before the quarter ended. However, the defender was tackled into the end zone after the interception, which was caught outside of the end zone, which, by rule, is a safety. Thus, the Orcas went into the half with a 5-0 lead.

The 3rd quarter saw a number of possession changes before the Orcas were able to put up their first touchdown of the year, on a 38 yard touchdown pass to Stephanie Morgan. Ricky hit the extra point, and the Orcas led 12-0. Upon getting the ball back, the Orcas drove to the 26 yard line before being stopped on a 3rd and 12. Ricky would miss the 43 yard field goal wide right, and the 3rd quarter would end with a 12-0 score.

The Rams were never able to get much offense going all day long, and had to punt again early in the 4th quarter. The Orcas used a long drive dominated by the run to seal the game on a 4 yard touchdown pitch to Napoleon Dynamite, making it 18-0 after a missed XP. The Rams finally got on the board with :7 seconds left in the game on a 6 yard pass to Reese Worthington, but it was a case of too little, too late. A failed 2 point conversion sealed the 18-6 final score, giving the Orcas a win in their first contest of the year.

Atlanta Falcons(0-1) @ Ornery Orcas(1-0)
Metro Civic Playgrounds

Week 2 for the Ornery Orcas wasn't much more of a challenge than Week 1, as they handily defeated another divisional rival, the Atlanta Falcons. Despite having one of the better QB's in the league, in Drew Bledsoe, the Falcons tried to rely on their running game and lacked the talent at the wide receiver position for Bledsoe to make much of a difference.

The Orcas received the opening kickoff and made short work of driving into the red zone. They lost their momentum though, and were unable to score on a handoff to Napoleon on 4th and goal from the 1, and turned the ball over on downs. The Falcons were put in a sticky situation, getting the ball on the 1 yard line, and tried running a sweep on their first play. Ricky Johnson got through his block and tackled the running back in the end zone, for the Orcas second safety in two weeks. The Orcas got the ball back, and this time were able to convert in the red zone on a 19 yard touchdown pass from Tony to Ernie. Ricky made the XP, and the Orcas closed the 1st quarter with a 9-0 lead.

The 2nd quarter was much less eventful than the first, as both teams were forced into numerous punts and turnovers. The Orcas were able to strike just before halftime though, again hitting up the Tony-Ernie connection on a 36 yard TD to put the Orcas up 16-0 at the half.

The Falcons opened the second half with the ball and with a plan. They marched down the field and punched it in on a 1 yard pass from Bledsoe to Maria Luna, but a failed 2 point conversion left the score at 16-6. The Orcas began to sweat a little after a punt on their first possession, but forced the same out of the Falcons on the next. Tony then threw his third touchdown pass of the day with :19 seconds left in the quarter, finding Steph Morgan on slant, which she ran in from 29 yards out. Ricky missed the extra point, but the Orcas ended the quarter up 22-6.

The Orcas were able to just wind down the clock in the 4th quarter, and the defense didn't allow much more to the Atlanta offense. Neither team scored in the 4th, and the Orcas cashed in a 22-6 victory in their home opener. One performance to note was Amir Khan, playing the role of lock-down defender and snagging 3 interceptions today!

Brewers probably voted that they will finish 11-3.
Brewers said Dmitri Petrovich is gonna struggle.

Hey, Bledsoe is the best QB in the game

Yeah I run a pass-heavy offense, and really had to adjust to using my running back for fairness because running is impossible in this game sometimes.
