Before I post the update for the next week, as requested by AgentP, here's how Rainbow Beach Stadium looks like in OOTP:

Image

In the future, I'll get pictures for Panpaka, GreenApples, and the Local Ballpark. Hopefully it looks alright to you guys!

OOTP meets MLB Power Pros. I love it. I love bringing video games together.

So ends another week of ABO baseball! I should have the next update up either late today or around this time tomorrow. My question is: which update style do you prefer? Do you prefer the text ones, or the ones with the pictures? Let me know!

Power Pros stadiums in OOTP is super cool. I had no idea you could do that!

And it's just perfect that you have a team called the Apples for this one

I was busy yesterday, but before I post the next weekly update today, I have the 3rd of the four MLBPP stadiums in OOTP: Panpaka Park! Enjoy!

This one was made before I made the other ones, meaning the quality on it could be a little better, but I think it turned out OK nonetheless.

Image

And, if anybody wants me to, I can cobble together some .prk files and maybe make the MLB Power Pros stadiums available either here, somewhere else, or on the OOTP forums as a compilation zip folder or something. Thoughts?

Real quick, before the next update, here's a look at what the Local Ballpark looks like in OOTP. I think this turned out decently well.

It turned out well except for the fact that your outfielders aren't in the field of play

EDIT: Speaking of all these really short fields, how are they affecting ERA's and HR numbers?

Ah, that's just cosmetics there, lol

As for the short fields and how they affect ERA, the fields are definitely having an affect on that. The most extreme example is for Boise, which plays in GreenApples Stadium, who lead the league in dingers with 43, but because of their pitching, their ERA is only 3.63, compared to at least 2 other teams in that divisions with ERAs over 5. Brooklyn is another example, playing in a re-incarnated Polo Grounds, who have over 35 dingers, and regularly gets at least 2 or 3 a game (and sometimes 1 or 2 of the inside-the-park variety). Their ERA is the 3rd-highest in the entire league at a 5.28.

So, yes, there is definitely an effect on ERA's and dingers with the shorter fences.

Before I get to the Weekly Recap, a question: how can I improve the update style? Did you like the pictures of the standings, rather than the text? Should I add things or get rid of things? Let me know, because I am open to that kind of feedback for this log.

ABO Weekly Recap

Stats Leaderboards

Atlantic Conference

Pacific Conference

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Players of the Month, April 2016

The Pitcher of the month went to Sandusky SP Abram Mahtiev. Mahtiev had himself a heck of an April, going 4-0 in 5 starts, putting up a 0.78 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 34.2 IP.

Pacific Conference
In the Pacific, the Hitter of the Month was, in a slight upset, Glendale LF Tomi Kimmonen. Beating out Boise's Ivan Aviles and his 12 dingers, Kimmonen hit .433 with 8 HRs, 20 RBIs, and 15 runs scored for the month.

On the other side of the coin, the Pitcher of the Month went to Hollywood CL Harrison Douglass.
