you might want to check out the wiki for the success mode guides or look on the message board for SUPASTAS and LUV. It kind of took off in a tangent, and there's some helpful info on it.

Or you can check out GameFAQs.

I'm not really sure myself, though.

My advice, make sure you get a gambling ring by dating Annabelle on Christmas (or earlier), don't spend time on unnecessary dating/working/studying (only if you want to buy equipment, reach lvl 4 moneyman, and lvl 3 bookworm), and use hyper-recovery to its max.

I think most of the maxed-out created players come from massive saving and reloading. This combination worked best for me while I was in the save/reload phase trying to get a good pitcher for once;

1) get the gambling ring from the girls, or random event
2) get the recovery necklace to recover a tiny bit of vitality each week
3) now if you notice, injury % is always 99% when you have 0 vitality...but having even the tiny bit that the recovery necklace bestows, suddenly makes injury % more like 30-45%. So now each week you can
a) gamble for a stat,
b) work out to get points in those categories again
c) rinse and repeat each week until hyper-recovery is all the way over, then gamble + rest

In order to make a supreme character, just save/reload when things don't go your way, gambling/injury wise. Kind of cheap, but really fun to do once (perhaps twice)...

Question on the H-Recovery bar.

Do you wait until the 4th time or so when the H-Recovery bar has the "overtrained" section at the far end?

I notice the bar gets further away each time you use it...

When the bar gets to the red portion, you don't get any hyper recovery bonus. :( You can tell when you get the hyper recovery by the flashing S at the left of the bar. I try to get it filled up as much as I can, but it's really hard when you're doing fielding machine training.

alright, so the best thing to do would be to do the "infinite" training on the 2nd or 3rd time around, when the "over training" section still doesn't exist.

To maximize hyper-recovery, I always try to have the supplement on hand. You can get 99 str pts every time. Just fill up the bar, use the supplement, and rest. If you don't have an h-rec supplement I've found that you can get almost 70 pts by weight training 3x, then practice with something that raises quickness to inch it a little further. One note about using supplements: The bar doesn't have to be completely filled in order to get 99 pts. As stated by Max, the bar keeps inching further out; if you have the bar close to full you'll get the 99 pts.

Now as to maxing out characters... I don't why but I'm completely intrigued (obsessed?) with this. Most of my time with this game has been spent in success mode with that one goal in mind. My first player had all stats maxed except power (189 - A) and around 19-20 abilities. My second player I just finished today. His stats are completely maxed and he has around 40 abilities (but only 30 pertain to him). I'll post him sometime today but my hands are a little full right now babysitting.

As far as strategy goes, most of my strategy has been pieced together from everyone elses strategies that they've posted on here and at GameFAQs, so I can only take credit for the time invested and some minor tweaking, but if there are questions I'm sure myself and other regulars here will help.

How much money have you spent on those supplements total? I don't like working and I've found out that giving Annie Sarah's photo makes you lose good sense. And by the way, what position does the guy you just made play?

Not much, I buy a couple at a time when the store pops up. I guess its worth noting that at the end of success mode I still had $400. I sold everything just to get an idea how much money I had to work with and it was almost $2000. But the sad thing is I couldn't use it on anything because I was already maxed out. So, just like my run through success mode with Ultimate, I saw many areas in which I could have tightened things up. Believe it or not, there's still room for improvement, although I might take a break from fielders and give pitchers a try. Looking at my notes, I worked somewhere around 8-10 times and my MoneyMan was right at level 2.

My players name is Gaia and he plays 3rd w/ LF as a second position.

Note: I haven't seen it posted so just in case anyone is wondering max pwr is 255. I think someone mentioned Ryan Howard had a 240, but I never saw anyone post what the actual ceiling was.

You worked 8-10 times? Did you get tons of blue abilities from items and random events? I only work 2-3 times at the tutoring job which gets me enough money to get by.

For some reason, on my current player, I can't get the hyper recovery to work this time. It is all the way to the end, and I used the supplement to allow for the over-training? But when I rest, it resets and nothing happens...

This will sound like a stupid question, but are you using the right one? I think the exact name is H-Recovery Supplement. I've never had any problems with it. What kind of training did you do? I know that affects it some. Also, I'm assuming that you are overshooting the red area to the point that it is no longer flashing. When you use the supplement it should start flashing again.

No, I used the H-Recovery Sup. The red area turned orange. It's been a few days (ski trip) but I'm 75% sure the S was flashing. I'm sure I used the H-RS because to fix it, I bought another, but couldn't use it.

OK, so now it's back to regular with no supplement and over-trained.
I use the supplement, and - the S doesn't flash and I don't get a bonus. Do I need ability points, too?

EDIT -
Yeah, I practiced to get points, and it started flashing.
