I prefer games with less than 10 players way more. But like the idea of a "chaos day" once a week or twice a month os something like that
I find 5v5 the sweetspot, but 4v4 is also great - and imo certainly to be preferred over 6v6 (and higher). But I suppose we can start a game manually for 4v4 / when there's 8 in queue? (And in theory 3v3 or 2v2?)

this should speed-up the whole pickupsystem.
like veg already replyed: a feature with timer would be nice for the future.

As this shifts the dynamic between players making the top dawgs more "powerful", this maybe should have been a discussion alongside with the hard/soft reset vote also. Based on the pickup mentality lately, I fear there's gonna be a couple cores of players that ponder together on whether it's a good time to add (=queue empty of boms and noobs) and the game after is going to be a speed-race on who gets to add first, but of course with this change, the threat of being left out is greater to some that for example and arguments sake do not play in the same (2-3?) clans as the highest ranked players who get to decide if people are left out or not. Faster starts would be nice of course and personally I prefer the smaller games, but this has some shit-storm potential right here.

should be random team captains then at least so it's not just highest elo players deciding how we play. what's the benefit of this except that mods aren't needed? Has there ever been a case where puller have not shown up after a couple of minutes..?
Captains consult their teams and make the call. There can't be random captains, only highest ranked are chosen.
The benefits are faster starts, more games and with that more competitive games which many players prefer.

A 2 mins timer (or something similar) should be placed if autostart is on, so that if enough people add up, during that timespan, can be included and chaos or split can be started.

Autostart would be enabled for pickup queue while chaos queue stays as it is.

How would it work in practice?
When 10th player adds to the pickup queue it automatically starts the game.

If it is evident more than 10 players are about to add to queues,
or
if 10 players add, pickup starts and more players add right away, captains decide on behalf of their teams if a game is to be cancelled to include the rest of the players,
then everyone can add only to chaos queue, which can be done by typing:

/add chaos
or
/add queues:chaos
From chaos queue either big game or split can be the next course of action.
